how would you describe your design aesthetic?

I would describe my design aesthetic as a vibrant and modern style with some edge. I enjoy clean looks with a bit of organized chaos. I love designing with strong contrast, using impactful colors, and have been getting more into using textures. However, I am still growing as a designer and also want to create things outside of my comfort aesthetic.

what objects inspire your aesthetic?

Some objects that inspire my aesthetic would be different types of print media such as magazines or posters. I love the look of editorial designs and working for a magazine company would be a dream to me. Album covers also greatly catch my attention and influence my aesthetic. Both old and new album covers can show a visual representation of the music and I find that super inspirational.

what was your earliest design memory?

My earliest design memory would have to be editing photos for my social media accounts in middle school. I would mess around with free ios apps and see what cool effects I could add to enhance my images. This is where I discovered my interest in photo editing and what eventually led to me choosing to graphic design as my major.

how do you define “interaction design”?

I would define “Interaction Design” as any design that is catered to influence the user’s experience. It is made though a intentional design layout that ensures users can enjoy and interact with it efficiently.

when was the last time you saw digital design in the world that surprised you?

I think a lot of digital designs have surprised me already within this class. From our class website, all of the designs on Are.na, and even some of my classmates have surprised me this semester. It’s hard to just pick one, also with AI being integrated into designing now more than ever.

what does “UX and UI” mean to you (if anything)?

“UX and UI” is essentially the usability and the visual elements of a digital design. It doesn’t mean a whole lot to me right now as I just started learning how to create "UX and UI" designs, but over time I will understand how to successfully utilize both cohesively.

what are the differences between designing for say, a print product, and a digital product?

what are you most interested in learning in this class?

The projects that I am looking forward to the most would probably be the "App Design" and "Portfolio" projects. I believe designing an actual interactive app would be super interesting, and I’ve always wanted to create my personal portfolio. Although, I am looking forward to learning anything and everything I can in this class.
